Making sure your baby is comfortable, happy and safe is most important. I stay as flexible as possible during newborn sessions, because I think of them as “baby-led”…baby is in charge. Whether your newborn is awake or asleep, I will capture the adorable moments of connection during this once in a lifetime period.

I’m proud of you for getting newborn photos! It takes some coordination, but it’s so worth it. When you look back at these photos of your tiny new baby, you’ll be so happy you got these memories documented professionally.
I’ll send you a welcome guide with wardrobe tips and suggestions, info on color palette, and simple ways you can prepare.

Your session will be filled with love and affection. Be affectionate, caress faces, give hugs and kisses...any kind of connection will translate beautifully. A few weeks later, I'll send you a gallery to view!

Then we can chat about location and outfits! I'll also send you a prep-guide about what to wear and what to expect. We can chat over the phone too!

WEAR WHAT YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE IN
For mom, I recommend long, flowy dresses so you don't feel confined - but wear what you are most comfortable in! For baby, go with your favorite outfit or a neutral onesie. It keeps the focus on the baby and we will capture leg rolls and toes!
Things I believe as your newborn photographer...
LET THE KIDS BE KIDS
If siblings are at the photoshoot, let them be themselves! This is an adjustment period for them as well, and if you embrace the chaos and try to have fun with it, I will most likely get some really cute and fun photos! The more we force them into the photos, the less they will want to participate.
YOUR HOUSE DOESN'T HAVE TO LOOK PERFECT
For a newborn session you really just need to tidy up 2 spots that have good light. Window light is ideal but if it's not possible I'll bring my flash. You can send me cellphone photos of rooms in your home if you need help picking the best location!
